Have a question for me?
If so, my next 2.5 days are empty, here’s how to take advantage of that
In case you missed my article from a couple weeks ago, after being in the freelance/consulting space for 9 years, I made the WILD decision of accepting a full-time job.
Between you and me, I never thought that’d happen, but I had an opportunity that was too good to pass up.
Not only great from a “salary” standpoint, but also checked off every other box.
- Boss was cool
- I love the industry/role
- Have a few friends that work there, and they always talk about how good the environment is…
All things I’ve kind of missed over the years.
Being a social butterfly, I need to see people on a daily basis, and you don’t always get that in the “freelance” space.
Sure, you’ll have Zoom calls and all that, but nothing compares to speaking with real life humans in person.
Probably the thing I missed most, and this new role was a perfect way for me to fix that, so over the last 10~ days — I’ve been “off-boarding” all my regular clients.
Almost like I put my two weeks in, just had a lot of other things to consider, and initially — my primary intention was getting “side hustle” clients.
Figured I could just pick up smaller projects, keeping my “copywriting” skills sharp, but after seeing what was coming in and thinking about it — I also started to realize this wasn’t necessarily “manageable” either.
A lot of the requests were a full-time job in itself, and I didn’t want to overextend myself, creating burnout and doing bad work because of it — so I just started to “coast” instead.
Had the intention of doing nothing for the final 8 days of my “freelance” career, something that was fun for a few days, but now I’m going crazy.
Don’t know what to do with myself, so after a little bit of thought, I found the perfect arrangement:
Free Consulting Calls (but you can tip if you want)
For the foreseeable future, my entire business model is going to revolve around providing value at “no obligation”, and then letting people tip if they want.
Do this for a few reasons, but at the end of the day, I’d say there’s two main ones.
In the simplest terms, whenever you see people leaving “tips”, it gives you enough motivation to keep going.
Not necessarily from a “financial” standpoint either, there’s no way you can live off this business model, but mostly from a “validation” aspect.
Anybody can talk a big game, saying:
“I love your work, you’re so smart”…
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s how people don’t always say what they mean either.
Some like to just be “nice”, but when they take action and pay any amount of money, even if it’s $5 — then you know they’re getting value out of your work.
Wouldn’t have paid any money if not, so that’s the first reason, but on top of this — it also allows them to create “sunk costs” for themselves.
I think we all know that nobody values “free information”, but if they put money down, then that inherently forces them to value it more.
This is part of the reason why “$10K consulting programs” work so well, as you’ll fight like hell to get that money back, but the hard part is how everybody is a little different.
To some, $5 might feel like $50K, and to others — they could lose $100 and not even realize it.
Seeing that, I’m just going to leave this open-ended, using the:
“Only pay if you want”…
Approach, and for the next 2.5 days, I’ll be doing this via consulting calls.
Absolutely love doing these anyway, so I’m excited about it, but I can only do it for the next 2.5 days — as my calendar is full after that.
On Thursday, I have to run some errands in preparation for my new job, on Friday — my friends are throwing a “last day of freedom” party.
It was literally so “shocking” that I’m going back to a “real job”, one of them took the entire day off, just so he could throw a “freedom party”.
Almost feels like a bachelor party, which is still crazy to me, but I digress.
Won’t be able to do these after 12 p.m. on Thursday (October 24th), but before then, I’m twiddling my thumbs and just begging for something to do.
Seeing this, if you’re interested:
Here’s how to get your free consulting call
I guess the million-dollar question upfront, would be:
“Who is this for?”…
And to keep it simple now, if any of my content has resonated with you in the past, then it’s for you.
I only write about stuff I’m familiar with, so since you’re here right now, you already have an idea of how I can help you.
Wouldn’t have liked my content if not, so that’s a good form of “self-filtration”, and for the call itself — it’s fairly straightforward.
Simply need you to pick a time that works best (via link below):
https://calendar.app.google/LxA2CoAvyQoK6bUB9
Then join our “Google Meet” appointment when that time comes.
Nothing wild, and on the call itself, I’ll be bringing 50 minutes of value.
There’s A LOT of things I can cover during this time:
And I’ll also be asking a few questions when you sign-up for a call, that way I can be somewhat prepared when we do.
Anyway, that’ll be the gist of it, and afterwards — you’re free to do whatever you’d like.
If you got a lot of value from this call, and I significantly helped you with any questions or problems you’re facing, then you can visit the link in my bio — providing whatever form of “thank you” in the tip jar.
That’ll help me see I delivered what you’re looking for, and if not, no worries either.
Zero obligation to jump on this call, if you didn’t receive any value, I don’t want you to pay for it — but I’m guessing we’ll be able to AT LEAST make it worth 50 minutes of your time.
Done a lot of these in my day, always amazing with how much we can cover in one call, so if you’d like to take advantage of this unique offer — then please sign-up for a call at the link below:
https://calendar.app.google/LxA2CoAvyQoK6bUB9
And I will speak to you then.
